What counts as a feature?
A feature counts when you approve the generated spec and code generation begins. Submitting requests and reviewing specs are always free.
Do I need my own AI API key?
Yes. Works with Anthropic Claude and OpenAI. You bring your key, choose your model, control costs. We encrypt at rest.
What happens when I hit my limit?
You'll see an upgrade prompt. Move to the next tier for more features, or wait until next month resets your count.
What if ShipFeat writes bad code?
Nothing ships without your approval. Review the spec first, then the PR with a live preview. Two gates, full control.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel or downgrade before the trial ends and you won't be charged for Pro. After that, cancel anytime — no contracts, no commitments.
What kind of projects work best?
Single-repo web apps built with modern frameworks — Next.js, React, Vue, Rails, Django, Laravel. Your repo needs a CI pipeline (tests, lint, or typecheck) so the AI can verify its work. Monorepos and microservices aren't supported yet.
What kinds of features can ShipFeat build?
Think 'add a search bar to the users page' or 'add email notification when an order ships.' New pages, CRUD features, UI tweaks, simple integrations. Not designed for complex refactors, performance tuning, or changes requiring deep domain expertise. If it would take a junior dev a day, ShipFeat can probably do it. If it would take a senior dev a week, it can't. Plus, you can refine specs with natural language before building — no need to start over if the plan needs adjusting.
What's in the Analytics dashboard?
Pipeline health (build success rates, time-to-ship, failure breakdown), cost tracking (spend per feature, token usage, model comparison), submission insights (approval rates, volume trends, top requesters), and a Value Delivered dashboard showing ROI, dev hours saved, and ship rate. Analytics are available on Pro and Team plans. Value Delivered is available on all plans.
Can I customize the widget?
Pro plans get full customization: dark or light theme, custom form labels and placeholders, custom submit button text, custom success messages, and the option to remove ShipFeat branding. Starter gets the standard widget. All customizations survive plan changes — upgrade and your settings are restored instantly.
What are Changelog and Announcements?
Changelog lets you keep a public, SEO-friendly record of what you've shipped. Entries are auto-generated when features go live, and you can write manual entries with a rich text editor. Announcements let you show banners, overlays, or toasts directly in your app through the widget — perfect for product updates, maintenance notices, or promos. Changelog is available on all plans (Starter: 3 manual entries/month). Announcements are Pro and Team only.
